[S5E2] I'm The Liver !!TOP!!

Fiona is officially off house arrest while Lip starts his first day of work for Tommy. But manual labor turns out to be harder than Lip thought and the brutal hazing from his co-workers doesn't help. Sheila considers an offer from two lesbians who want to buy her home. Frank tries to talk her out of it and begins warning everyone of the neighborhood's impending gentrification. Also, the father of boy whose liver Frank received invites Frank to a special father's day dinner with all the other organ recipients, which Sammi ends up crashing, further enraging Sheila. Meanwhile, a manic Ian plans his revenge with Mickey and Mandy against a homophobic military funeral protest. Fiona confronts Sean about her feelings for him. Kev bonds with Svetlana. And Debbie continues to struggle with her friends and boys.

Things are still the same. As always for Frank, who is peddling his homemade bacon-flavored 130-proof brewed beer for pot brownies, he's damaging his new liver that he's estimated will buy him another 10 years (he even meets the donor's grieving parents and, no surprises, horrifies them). It also looks like he'll be going head-to-head with realtors looking to gentrify into his neighborhood, which is becoming a hot commodity for Chicago's hipster and yuppie communities: "Laugh. Laugh. You won't be laughing in a year when you won't be able to afford to live here. They move in, they take over. They kick the homeless out of the park, as if they don't have a God given right to sleep there. We are dinosaurs, my friend. And a big, fat comet is headed for our sweet slice of Earth. And that comet is a Starbucks."

I loved the scene between Sheila and Frank, when he first comes home and she tells him about the lesbian realtors. Her getting Sammi with the hose was hilarious to me. I dunno. Besides this side story liver crap I like Frank and his self righteous ranting about everything.

(Of course, as fellow nerd!Blake Octavia pointed out, Prometheus was ultimately caught and punished by Zeus, who chained him to a rock and made an eagle eat his liver. So exactly how much comfort Octavia would be able to take from this comparison remains unclear.)

After the second letter, episode 2 of The Watcher sees the Brannocks really shaken. They go to Chamberland once again and plead with him to investigate Jasper. He turns down their suspicions and instead asks them to list their house to see who would bid. Among other things, he also suggests hiring private security. But it is too expensive. A good Private Investigator is the next suggestion and they think it is a good idea. Dean meets with Theodora Birch, a jazz musician turned PI the next day. She has liver cancer and tells her story of how she came to be obsessed with murders while she was in rehab. That is in fact what saved her from her alcoholism. Dean does not say yes but for the price, she offers her services seem tempting. 041b061a72
